How to use Langey
There are two ways to learn with Langey. Keep Roadmap turned off to choose lessons freely, or turn Roadmap on to follow a personalized daily study plan.
Learn Without Roadmap
With Roadmap turned off, you study German at your own pace. You decide what and when to learn while tracking progress across every module.
Step 1: Select Your Level
Choose your current German level: A1, A2, or B1. Langey opens the modules available for that level.
Step 2: Explore the Modules
Langey includes six learning modules:
- Vocabulary
- Grammar
- Speaking
- Writing
- Reading
- Listening
Every module has a progress ring. The level progress bar at the bottom of the screen shows your overall progress for the selected level.
Vocabulary
Open Vocabulary to review flashcards. For every word you can:
- View the German word and its English meaning.
- Listen to its pronunciation.
- Read an example sentence in German and English.
- Mark the flashcard as Good or Bad based on whether you remembered it.
Select Stats to see vocabulary progress for the current level.
Grammar
Open Grammar and select a topic available for your level. Every topic includes clear explanations, examples, and grammar tables. Switch to Practice for interactive exercises, and use Stats to monitor progress.
Speaking
Open Speaking and choose a conversation scenario or create your own. During a conversation you can:
- Speak naturally with the AI.
- Select any word spoken by the AI to see its meaning.
- Use Suggest whenever you need help replying.
Speaking Stats show your target hours, grammar used correctly, and grammar that needs improvement.
Writing
Write any paragraph you like, then check vocabulary and grammar corrections separately. Writing Stats show your recommended word target and grammar performance.
Reading
Choose a reading topic for your level. Read the passage, review difficult vocabulary, and complete the activity. Select Stats to view reading progress.
Listening
Choose a listening topic for your level. Listen to the audio, review difficult vocabulary, and complete the listening activity. Select Stats to view listening progress.
Track Your Progress
As you complete activities, each module progress ring fills and the overall level progress bar grows. After completing a level, continue to the next one.
Learn with Roadmap
Roadmap creates a personalized daily study plan while teaching the same content available without Roadmap. Instead of choosing what to study each day, Langey prepares your daily tasks automatically.
Step 1: Enable Roadmap
Turn on the Roadmap switch in the top-right corner. During setup, choose your target completion time and your reason for learning German. Langey then generates your personalized roadmap.
Step 2: Complete Today's Tasks
The Modules page becomes your daily task list. You still use Vocabulary, Grammar, Speaking, Writing, Reading, and Listening, and the experience inside each module remains the same.
Daily Vocabulary
Review flashcards, listen to pronunciation, read example sentences, and mark cards as Good or Bad. Complete the vocabulary target assigned for today.
Daily Grammar
Open today's grammar topic, learn from explanations, examples, and tables, then complete the practice exercises and daily target.
Daily Speaking
Complete today's AI conversation. Select AI words to see their meanings and use Suggest when you need help replying.
Daily Writing
Complete today's writing task, review vocabulary corrections and grammar corrections, and reach the assigned writing target.
Daily Reading
Complete today's reading activity, review difficult vocabulary, and finish the exercise before continuing.
Daily Listening
Complete today's listening activity, review its vocabulary, and finish the listening exercise.
Daily Progress
Roadmap adds a Progress Pill inside every module. It shows how much of today's target is complete and how much remains. Module rings reflect progress toward today's tasks, while the overall level progress bar continues to show progress through your current German level.
Complete today's tasks and continue day by day until you finish your roadmap.
